Scope of Work:
Comprehensive removal, repair, and reinstallation of a damaged vertical auger system following catastrophic mechanical failure.
Removal of Damaged Auger:
The vertical auger was carefully removed from the system for inspection and repair.

Damage Assessment:
The failure was attributed to a catastrophic seal and bearing breakdown, resulting in extensive damage to the shaft, seal surface, and auger hub.

The damage rendered the original components unusable, preventing the reinstallation of bearings, seal, and snap ring.

Shaft Replacement:
A new shaft was precision-machined and installed onto the original cross member, restoring structural integrity and alignment.

Auger Bearing Hub Repair:
A thick metal ring was welded to the end of the auger to allow machining and a steady rest to be used in order to allow the inner hub to be welled repaired and re machined for bearing seal and snap ring on a large lathe

Auger Hub Repair & Component Replacement:
After the hub underwent weld repair and re-machining to restore its geometry and functionality, the steady rest ring was removed and ground smooth. New bearings, seal, and snap ring were installed.

Reinstallation & Final Testing:
The auger was reinstalled, and a vibration analysis was performed to verify mechanical stability and performance. The repair was completed successfully, and the system was cleared for operation.

Outcome:
The vertical auger system was fully restored and reinstalled. All components were replaced or repaired to meet operational standards, and post-repair testing confirmed the system is stable and ready for use.
